Cartoonists of Odisha | Dillip Khuntia

Dillip Khuntia

Bhadrak based Dillip Khuntia ( born on April Fool’s Day in 1958) is a journalist and cartoonist. He has drawn cartoons for several newspapers and periodicals including Prajatantra, Matrubhasa, Krantidhara, Dainik Orissa Bhaskar, Eswar, Kalantara, Sakal,  Bisesh Khabar (weekly), Cartoon Duniya (multi lingual monthly Cartoon magazine) from early 1990s.
He had his schooling at Ranihat High School, Cuttack. He studied in NC College, Jajpur and Bhadrak College. He developed interest in fine arts from his student days and indulged in that as a profession.   He drew film posters, book illustrations and also several cartoon strips for children in several magazines. He has a keen sense of humour and gradually began to draw social and political cartoons. Gradually he also developed interest in journalism and worked as reporter for several newspapers.

His younger brother Ashok (known as Silpee Ashok) is also a well-known cartoonist.
